 One of the most popular questions we receive from our customers is - why would you need to Detail a brand new car? There are a few reasons but the main one would be the most obvious one is the protection factor - you really want to keep your car looking as good as the day you collected it. The protection applied to all paintwork & plastics comes in the form of a ceramic coating - CQuartz to be exact. Ceramic coatings outlast traditional methods of paint protection(wax) by at least 5 times, with CQuartz lasting 24 months. This makes the car much easier to keep clean and the dirt / road salt simply falls from the paintwork on powerwashing. Another reason for having a new car detailed is the fact a lot of the time the car isn’t in the perfect condition you would expect. We have a one stage machine polish included in all our new car details as we have found that 4 out of 5 cars does have light swirl marks on the paintwork and these need to be removed before applying the ceramic coating. The swirl marks are usually caused by poor wash technique carried out by the garage, typically in a rush to get the car ready and out the door - a reason we would advise customers to stay clear of dealer applied protection(supagard etc) as they simply don’t spend/have enough time to apply the coating correctly. Using our method it takes us one full day to prepare,polish & apply the ceramic coating then the car is kept in our studio overnight to allow the coating to cure. Car detailing is a commendable cost-effective tactic for keeping the old faithful in a pristine order. Ideally, a speed machine only necessitates a full ball to the wall paint correction once and then aftercared with refresher polishing once a year. I usually do a full detail with paint correction in spring and wax in the late fall to protect the paint for the Jack Frost.
